WELCOME
Welcome to the STEMCrAfT Project.* The STEMCrAfT Project is about capacity building for STEM teachers using a peer support model. It does this using the STEM Framework, a tool designed to assist teacher analysis, critique and evaluation of STEM resources.
The STEM Framework was developed by STEM teachers reflecting on their own practice and identifying the processes they engage in when planning and implementing STEM teaching. We would like STEM teachers, including those with less experience (such as new teachers and those teaching STEM out of area), to use the Framework to review resources they are considering using. We would then like these teachers to provide feedback on the Framework and how useful they found it. This feedback will contribute to the research component of the project, and help us improve the way inexperienced teachers access STEM resources.
The project is specifically focused on regional, rural and remote teachers of STEM.
Check out our video vignettes to find out what some of our teachers think about teaching STEM.
The project national launch was held in Launceston on the 29 July 2014.
Support for this project has been provided by the Australian Maths Science Partnerships Program (AMSPP), and is currently overseen by the Australian Department of Education.
